A tragedy takes place on the tableland of Passo di Resia in August 1950. The village of Curon is completely submerged by the waters following the construction of a dam. The inhabitants witness helplessly the destruction of their houses with dynamite and the definitive engulfing of fields, meadows and land. Set over a period of time embracing both past and present, the film throws light on the dramatic circumstances acting as a background to the construction of the dam, and shows what the effects were on subsequent generations.
