A film about the encounter between Frost, a beautiful polar bear mother, her cubs and a Norwegian filmmaker, since their first encounter in 2013 in Svalbard, and their struggle for survival, as the ice is melting away at record speeds. Rising temperatures are responsible for dramatic changes in their ecosystem, but the beauty of the Arctic remains dazzling. While avoiding didactic and normative interpretations, the film is a reflection on man’s place on earth and an homage to life.

Director
Asgeir Helgestad
He completed his education as an engineer in 1991, but his part-time job as a journalist and wildlife photographer and cinematographer, that had helped finance his studies, had a greater allure than a future in technological industries, and Helgestad chose the call of the wild in lieu of a perhaps more bankable desk-job as an engineer.
