1906. Hanna Leitner, a young mother, longs for nothing more than to break free from her confining aristocratic life and society’s strictures. She abandons her family and flees to the sanatorium at Monte Verità. There, in the idyllic countryside of southern Switzerland and the passionate pursuit of her art, Hanna soon has to face making a decision that is tearing her apart: can she go back to her family without surrendering herself? Based on true events: the world’s first hippie commune.
