VIDA FERREA (“steel life”) is a journey across Peru aboard a freight train; an incredible descent from the Andes, at an altitude of 4,800 meters, to the shores of the Pacific Ocean, carrying minerals with loads of wealth and damnation for all those who cross its track. Set amidst staggering scenery, VIDA FERREA alternates between a road movie peppered with encounters and the social x-ray of a country victim of the neo-colonial system.

Manuel Bauer
Born in Lima, Peru, in 1974. He pursued an MA in Film at the New School University, in New York, where he discovered documentary cinema. He then moved to Madrid, Spain, and started working at the editorial department of several feature documentaries and fiction films.
