"Papillon", alias M49, is a brown bear that gets too close to people in the Mocheni Valley in northern Italy. A problem bear, and a projection. Night vision cameras are still the most reliable witnesses demonstrating his existence. Alice, a biologist, sets out on his trail, and with her so does the film. PAPILLON recounts the final stages in an escape.
