The Himalayas, a vast natural barrier steeped in holiness and myth, are home to the legendary Beyul, or “hidden valleys”. Among these there is the Zanskar Valley, now threatened by climate change.

Directors

Francesco Clerici

A graduate in art history and self-taught filmmaker, he is an award-winning documentary maker and university lecturer. His works have been screened at numerous international festivals.

Angelica Pastorella

She holds degrees in East Asian Languages and Cultures (Chinese) and in Cultural Anthropology, Ethnology, and Ethnolinguistics from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. She wrote two introductory books on China published by Polaris.
