In winter, the Alpine valley welcomes hundreds of thousands of skiing enthusiasts, setting in motion an organisational system involving large numbers of people. The film focuses on the repetitive yet ever-changing pattern of a cycle that repeats itself every year.

Paolo Vinati
He graduated from DAMS in Bologna with a degree in ethnomusicology. He has conducted extensive research on traditional oral music in Lombardy, Trentino Alto Adige, Austria, Montenegro, Croatia and Sardinia, publishing books and producing several CDs. He has made a number of ethnographic and ethnomusicological documentary films, screened at various film festivals.
