Mild-mannered Nam Chul-woo, a North Korean fisherman who lives with his wife and daughter in a village on the border with South Korea, is involved in a minor boating accident. His fishing net gets caught in the boat's engine, making it impossible to manoeuvre, and the current carries Nam southwards. Once he crosses the border, the fisherman is captured by the South Korean authorities and immediately accused of being a spy. Kim Ki-duk, one of the masters of Korean cinema, is the author of THE ISLE (2000), 3-IRON (2004) and PIETÀ (Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 2012).
