At the age of 29, Laurent is trying to make sense of his life. Without a home or job, he arrives at a deserted ski resort out of season and immerses himself in the lives of the few locals he meets, taking possession of the empty spaces as if he were a squatter. He bonds in particular with the mother of a boy his own age who is fascinated by the life and deeds of the Vikings. When winter returns, the high season begins and the tourists start to arrive, Laurent realises he no longer wants to leave and looks for a way of staying in this world.
