Oh Dae-su (Choi Min-sik) is kidnapped, locked up in a strong room, and kept in contact with the world through a television. During his fifteen years of imprisonment, he discovers that his wife has been killed, attempts suicide, and clings to his thirst for revenge to prevent himself from going totally mad. He is released just as mysteriously as he was imprisoned. A new Oh Dae-su must discover the reason for such relentless persecution and at the same time plan his revenge. A Korean cult film, winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival.

Park Chan-wook (born 1963) is a South Korean filmmaker celebrated for his visually striking style and provocative storytelling. He rose to international prominence with the “Vengeance Trilogy,” especially OLDBOY, which won the Grand Prix at Cannes. His films, including THE HANDMAIDEN (2016) and DECISION TO LEAVE (2022), blend noir, psychological drama, and dark humor, exploring themes of revenge, desire, and moral ambiguity with formal elegance and bold intensity.
