Mija and her grandson live in a town in Gyeonggi Province. When she is diagnosed with Alzheimer's, the elderly lady enrols in a poetry class, determined to rediscover beauty in her everyday environment. One day, Mija discovers that her grandson has assaulted a girl of his own age together with some of his schoolfriends, and that their parents intend to cover up the incident. From the director of OASIS (2002, Silver Lion at Venice Film Festival), Lee Chang-dong is one of the key figures behind the Korean new wave at the start of the millennium.

LEE Chang-dong
Born in Daegu, Korea, in 1954, Lee Chang-dong graduated in Korean language and literature from Kyungbuk University. He began his career in theatre at the age of twenty, to then pursue a literary career and become a high school teacher. In 1993, encouraged by filmmaker Park Kwang-su, he joined the production team of the film L'ILE ETOILÉE. He made his directorial debut with the feature film GREEN FISH (1997), a unique film noir.
