Onetime rodeo king Sonny Steele (Robert Redford) makes a living doing commercials for cornflakes while riding a magnificent horse. When he discovers that the animal is being drugged, he “kidnaps” it and escapes to the mountains to set it free. An investigative journalist (Jane Fonda) pursues him. The film was shot in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area in Nevada.
