There is the Christmas we all know, reassuring, with its nativity scene, lights and Christmas tree, and then there is Petra and Jure's Christmas, very far from any kind of warmth. The two siblings are used to living at sub-zero temperatures, but the icy coldness of the village and its few inhabitants is beginning to be a problem: is there an escape route for people like them? A story as white as the snow and as black as crime news, combining comedy and tragedy, where each individual character becomes part of a disastrous domino effect.

Director
Matteo Oleotto
Matteo Oleotto was born in Gorizia in 1977. He graduated in acting from the Civica Accademia d’Arte Drammatica “Nico Pepe” in Udine in 2001, and in film direction from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome in 2005. From 2015 to 2018, he was artistic director of La Contrada Theatre in Trieste. Since 2021, he has been President of the Cross-Border Film School Association based in Gorizia. ULTIMO SCHIAFFO is his second film for the big screen, after ZORAN, IL MIO NIPOTE SCEMO.
