Fresh from the success of the Italian conquest of K2 in 1954, Walter Bonatti was called upon by the municipality of Bardonecchia to work as a mountain guide and ski instructor at the beginning of 1955. The film recounts the two years he spent there, using testimony, photographs and period footage.
