VENUS IN THE ALPS

“Venus in the Alps” is a performance interweaving archaeology and collective memories. The discovery of the Venus of Gaban gives rise to reflection on the unearthing of matrilineal Alpine culture and traces of women's experiences. The audience is invited to undertake a personal inner “excavation”, exploring ancient history and contemporary awareness. The poetry and performance pieces also incorporate the sounds of Ladin, Cimbrian and Mòcheno, minority languages in the Trentino area, helping to convey the richness of its linguistic and cultural diversity.
