The film presents the extraordinary natural wonders of the ‘Huayhuash’ mountain range situated 50 miles south of the Cordilliera Blanca in Perù. It highlights its biodiversity and important ancestral communities, which are admired during a 12-day trek by hikers from all over the world. This spectacular trek takes place around these beautiful mountains which, for some unaccountable reason, were not included in the national system of protected natural areas by the Peruvian government. The purpose of the documentary is to promote, through the images, the need to preserve this natural heritage thus fostering a greater mountain culture.
