Magically animated, the Strega mountain, one of the Caucasian range, speaks. An old mountaineer listens to her words to a group of climbers, walking along the slopes: they are admonitions, threats from her, under which, however, one can guess the desire to be tamed. The mountain calls the mists to disorient climbers, makes the winds whistle angrily; it even seems to straighten its crests even more. In the end, won by the tenacity of men, her accompanies them on their return with words of admiration.
