Produced as part of the International Geophysical Year, this film retraces the history of the discovery of Terre Adélie, the creation of the French Polar Expeditions by Paul-Émile Victor and the construction in 1956, 1957 and 1958 of the Dumont Durville and Charcot stations under the direction of Bertrand Imbert.
This film gives a vision of the adventure of these expeditions and the life inside the Charcot base as well as the work itself.
