The film recalls and repeats the first solo ascent, made by guide Walter Bonatti, on the West Pillar of the Drus, in the Mont Blanc Group.
Walter Bonatti, provided with food for three days, clung for six days and nights to this vertical wall, which overhangs from a height of 800 meters.
The hunger, the thirst, the discouragement that gripped the climber when he got stuck on the wall without being able to climb or descend, the way he got out of this dramatic condition: this is the subject of the film and the story of this exceptional climb, due to the solitary valor of one man.
By joint necessity with the production of this documentary, Walter Bonatti was replaced by the well-known Swiss mountaineer Michel Vaucher.
