Aboard the oceanographic ship Calypso, Cousteau carries out a long trip to Tierra del Fuego, reconstructing Magellano's route. In this documentary Cousteau adds an interesting chapter about the naturalistic research following whales during the coupling period. The life at the World's end deals with the men that live in these desolated regions, their everyday life, their hopes, the craftswork, the rare meeting with ships and the harsh struggle to survive.
