Baffin island is situated between the Canadian terrafirma and Greenland. It is an inhospitable land, permanently covered by ice which is two thousand metres thick. The eskimoes call this land "the land that never wakes up". A group of climbers move along the high mountain that have the most perpendicular sides in the whole world. Their aim is to carry out a reconnaissance of the whole island which has still not been completely explored.
