With Italy's exit from the Triple Alliance, the Alps became the scene of war. The "Front line on ice and rocks" is that of Adamello and Ortles where - in the first and only war fought in the high mountains in history - the Alpine and Kaiserjaeger lines came face to face. The documentary tries to gather the last living testimonies of the Italians and Austrians.
