A hundred years ago on the top of Hohe Sonnblick in Rauristal - one of the many 3000 in the Alps - an observatory was built which has since been enlarged and equipped with more up-to-date instruments. This meteorological station, one of the oldest in existance, is used throughout the year and it is an ideal place for observing the change in the weather on the top of the main alpine mountains. Ernst Neukamp went to the station to observe the meteorologists working there among the clouds.
