The film shows the life of the kingfisher, a bird living near rivers and lakes, that feeds mainly on fish. The camera takes patient and picturesque scenes - some in slowmotion to emphasize certain details of the life of these birds - from the time the bird sits on the eggs until the young ones have learnt to fly. Fhe film took one year to make and so it covers all the seasons from spring to winter.
