The "Jibaro" is a kind of wild dog living in some hilly areas of Cuba. Its origin is a mystery and is lost in the mists of time. Its favourite prey are calves, goats, sheep, rabbits and chickens that it attacks both in the open and in enclosures, even near houses. Some say it kills only to eat, but a legend says that it has a particularly ferocious nature. The film narrates the story of an expedition of "campesinos" to destroy these animals of prey.
