The story in this film was taken from the book "Wild Stories" by Nikolai Haitov. The action takes place in the past. Grandparents make a boy and girl marry to ensure the continuation of their clan. A man, who is in love with the girl, prevents the marriage from her brothers for the price of two goats. For years the boy watches his wife bring up another man's child: he also marries again because descendants are important in that country. When the other man becomes paralyzed the boy helps the girl to take care of him: and then they are able to marry.
