The film is one of the most important documents on the movement of an Eskimo tribe - the Netsilik - from the summer hunting grounds to the winter ones. The documentation was gathered on the basis of information given by the fifth Thule expedition, organized and led by Knud Rasmussen. The Netsilik are the last example of this civilization and they live on Boothia peninsula in the Canadian Arctic archipelago. The fil was produced under scientifi supervision of the ethnographer Asen Balakci.
