LA CASA NEL TRONCO
Italy / 1985 / 28'
The surival of the woodpecker depends on the existence of old trees in which he makes his nests year after year. Other species of birds also like to shelter and build their nests in the hollows of these trees or even take over the woodpeckers' abandoned nests. The film shows some of these strange stiuations, but in particular it dwells on the reproduction of the black woodpecker, a rather rae species that lives in old and undisturbed woods.
