Pierre Allain is 82 years old. He still makes 40000 karabiners a year because, apart from being the greatest pre-war climber he is also an ingenious inventor. The film runs through some moments of Allain's mountaineering activity using films of the day including the "conquest" of the Eiffel tower.

In his long career as a director he has produced around fifty documentaries for television dedicated to mountains around the world. He has also made numerous works for the cinema, including “Momo le doyen” (2007), “Expérience africaine” (2009) and “La Pépinière du désert” (2011).
