The film is about the Roman CAI ountaineering expedition, led by Franco Alletto, to the mountains in Peru. After some shots taken in the training school in Italy and then in Peruvian villages, the film concentrates on the conquests of some peaks and the unsuccessful attempts on others. The climbers now and then explain what tey are doing.
