On 20th April 1986 the Bulgarian mountaineer Hristo Pradanov reached the top of Everest alone and without oxygen. Pradanov was a member of the Bulgarian expedition to the Himalayas but after the conquest he was unable to return to camp and died in a snowstorm. 20 days later four other mountaineers climbed the difficult west ridge thus achieving the first crossing of the summit. During the expedition the members of the Bulgarian team meet Reinhold Messner and tell him about their adventure.
