The technique of sports climbing is compared with classical climbing with alternative demonstrations of both. The result is a historical reconstruction which evokes the great climbers of the past: Otto Herzog, Hans Fiechtl, Hans Dülfer, Paul Preuss, Lettenbauer, Solleder. Not only the techniques of the past and present climbers are compared but also their idealistic motivations.
