At the beginning the film talks about the relations between the Harz mines and other old mines such as the Kongsberg ones in Norway. There follows a guided tour of the Minig Museum in Saxony which is now a great attraction. A group of people go below ground on a miners' train and then along various tunnels until they reach the Ernst-August tunnel. which was used to dicharge the water from the mine, which they cross by boat.
