On 16 July 1937, after three days, Riccardo Cassin with Esposito and Ratti, who were joined by the Molteni and Valsecchi climbing party, conquered the gigantic north-east face of Pizzo Badile, at the time one of the biggest unsolved mountaineering problems. THe victory was followed by a tragedy: Molteni and Valsecchi died in the arms of their companions in raging bad weather. 50 years later, Richard Cassin, now 78 years old, wished to repeat his great glimb and this film was made on that occasion.
