The film shows the result of a research into the anthropological, ethnomusicological and traditional dancing aspects of the Ponte Caffaro carnival. The first part is devoted to Shrove Monday and the dancers and violin players that still follow the traditional models. The second part is about Shrove Tuesday, the ugly and lewd Maschers and lastly the transformations that have taken place as a result of social and economic changes. A particular part is devoted to the analysis and possible decording of this unusual repertory of tradtional dancng. Renato Morelli is an active and perspicacious film director of the RAI who is very popular with the Festival audience.
