With the "Pelagic", a steel siling ship with mobile keel, the international expedition "Antartide 89" led by Marco Morosini visited some scientific bases in Chile, Argentina and England. One of the purposes of the expedition was to analize the situation of the fauna threatened by the earth's pollution and find ways of protecting it and the problems arising from exploitation of mines and oil fields in South America.
