The Grand Canyon of Verdon is frequently the destination of daring canoeists. Less frequent, instead, is the attempt to descend the gorges of this river on board a raft made of logs. This is what Jean-Pierre Coindet did on a craft wighing half a ton, without helmet or jacket and without any equipment to keep him on this strange craft. There was nothing for his friends to do but follow him along the banks 400 metres above.
