In summer 1988 seven alpinists leave to climb the Diamir wall. The wall is 4000 metres and not a favourite with alpinists. Few people go there because of the dangers involved. Gerhard Bauer who was a good alpinist before he became a film-maker climbed to 7400 metres to film this climb. It is an opportunity for him to to tell the story of the terrible Pakistan mountain, that since 1932 has "bewitched" German alpinists who have repeatedly attempted to conquer it over the years, with great terrible disasters.
