The documentary describes the territory of a few of the 19 reserves established as a result of the 6/5/1981 regional law no. 98, of the Sicilian Region. Their naturalistic features have been considered: FIUMFREDDO (CT) to preserve the aquatic flora and to re-establish the riparian vegetation; CAVAGRANDE DEL CASSIBILE (SR) to protect and preserve the various rock-plant formations; VENDICARI (SR) for the resting-place and nesting of the avifauna and the conservation of the ecosystem; FOCE DEL PLATANI (AG) to guarantee and preserve the avifauna and help to re-establish the Mediterranean vegetation; ZINGARO (TP) for the conservation and protection of the natural, environmental and countryside heritage.
