Argentina 1930 - In the Cordilleras, Larry is tracking down the man who killed the Merican consul in Mendoza. Along the route in search of the criminal, he finds an old rucksack. In the rucksack there is a diary of an expedition in 1880 by the French writer Lucien Grandville and his secretary Raoul de Marsac. Grandville is a fourty year old alcoholic who leads an uneventful life. From the diary he learns that during his journey Grandville met three strangers who had a big secret. The know an Andes peak from which it was possible to take flight. Larry also has a strange meeting which distracts him from his mission and shows him the way to this mythical mountain.
