This is the story of two men and a mountain that brought them together for the first time. John Hunt (leader of expedition) and his guide and sherpa Dawa Tenzing look back on the conquest of the Ecerest in 1953. The film deals impartially with two foundamentally different concepts: the western one, twoards the understanding of human nature and explores the effects of the historical event on the life and culture of the Nepalese people. It also shows how differently the two men, in many ways wolds apart from each other, view their past.
