The Adirondack Park in the New York State consists of various pieces of public and private grond that almost makes it a mosaic. All together it is the largest natural landscape in the east of the US. The film takes its cue from the first settlers - documented with photos and old films - and runs through various historical events up to modern times with the problems that threaten nature reserves, such as the apportionment of landed property and the effects of the acid rains. The survey was made for the Adirondack museum by two film-artists who are already well known in the United States for their nature films.
