The video portrays an ecological operation, the first of this kind in Europe, in the large area covered by Lake d' Orta. At the beginning it describes the geological history of its origin, the first human settlement and the local arts. Then it continues with comments on the fish and the water. It then analyzes the industrial exploitation of the lake which seriously jeopardized it and finally brought about its biological death. This is followed by the active operation of the administrative and the scientific offices to recuperate the lake.
