Beginning with a number of pictures of today's chaotic human society in which people are more and more isolated and where everyone tends to mind their own business, the film highlights the human qualities of the alpine rescuer. An accident that occures near a mountain peak emphasizes the prompt reaction of the climbing companion who lets himself fall so that he can balance his friend on the other side of the peak, as this is the only way he can save his life.
