Within the project "EV-K2-CNR" a number of researches have been carried out on human physiology in high altitudes and the psycho-physical responses to the stress alpinists are exposed to when they are climbing in the Himalaya. The Scoiattoli-di-cortina-group participated in these studies with a group of six alpinists on whom the experiments were made. A climb to the top of Mount Pumori was made for this purpose.
