They wanted to discover the Antarctica. They wanted to be the first expedition to conquer the South Pole after Rold Amudsen. They wanted to make a dream come true: to cross the Antarctica on skis, the longest crossing ever attempt. Six men and a continent of ice without any sign of life. The expedition had no leader as this was to be a collective conquest. But troubles broke out in the group in the middle of the wilderness where there are no living creatures. "Landscape of Silence" is a "travel" film. An exterior geographic and landscape journey, but also an interior one. It portrays the men and their conflict. They left on 24th October 1990 and reached the South Pole on 14th December. The journey ended on 5th February1991 after 105 days and 3000 km across the Antarctica.
