The film depicts man and nature on Mykines in one of the Faroese islands, in the north Atlantic, between the islands of Shetland and Iceland. We see the life of the keeper of the lighthouse built on the western point of the Faroese archipelago on a rock rising out of the sea. On the same island there is a little community who have perfected a special technique to captures the birds that stop to sleep on the steep cliffs.
