This is an educational film illustrating the complex problem of the development of alpine refuges from a technical, social and ecological point of view. The images illustrate the history of the refuge which, from a simple shelter, has turned into a building offering many services not only for mountaineers but also for tourists. Problems such as sources of energy, disposal refuse and environmental impact are dealt with, providing possible solution for protecting the surrounding nature.
