This documentary is dedicated to the exciting account of the record expedition to Everest in 1990, the "International Peace Climb". The group of climbers include men and women from China, Tibet, the Soviet Union and the United States led by the head of the expedition, Jim Whittaker, the first american to climb Everest in 1963. It is the celebration of the spirit of collaboration and understanding between men of different countries fighting for a common purpose and overcoming the difficulties of the high altitude, temperature, language and cultural differences. The team that reaches the summit includes climbers from three countries. The well known actor Robert Redford is the narrator of the film.
