The film follows the ascent of the formidable and seldom climbed north ridge of Everest. It is the first time an Irish climber has ever scaled an 8.000. At a critical period in the efforts to bring peace to Northern Ireland, the team of climbers included men from the North and the Irish Republic. The leader Dawson Stelfox, who holds both an Irish and a British passport, was not only the first Irishman to climb Everest, but also the first Briton to climb the north ridge, the route taken by Mallory and Irvine in 1924. The film underlines the courage, strenght and determination of the men in this expedition in facing an awesome mountain like Everest.
